Ireland are out and dont have anything to sing about – Italy 2 – 0 Ireland

Ireland stayed singing “The fields of Athenry“ until the very end but have ended up with no points and -8 goal difference. Italian Balotelli scored in the last minute to give Italy their ticket to the final 8.

Ireland played better than they have done for the last few matches and Italy are deserving of Oscars for their acting performance – Their players including goal scorer Balotelli hit the ground many times without the aid of any Irish player.

Our money would not be on Italy for the Euro 2012 Win , but Ireland need to rethink for themselves if they even want to dream about World Cup 2014. It might be worth staying at home for that one.
