Goal Line Technology – Hawk Eye versus Goal Ref

Today the decision will be made whether Goal Line Technology will be introduced. No more guessing games for Referee or Match Officials . No more hair pulling by Players or Goal Keeper. A 1 or a Zero will tell whether Goal is in or not.

Two Systems are under the scope and the International Football Association Board is tasked with this decision. One system uses a Camera ( Hawk Eye ) and the other ( Goal Ref ) a sensor embedded in the ball with a field of magnetisim around the Goal.

Personally Hawk Eye sounds like a better option.

When the International Football Association Board (IFAB) makes the decision , expect to see the technology is use later on this year!
