Rodgers compares Suarez to Messi – He is a world-class striker!
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that Luis Suarez is the clubs Lionel Messi and says his performances have at times been unplayable this season.
Suarez was once again the key man for the Reds in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon as he scored a superb equaliser, which was his seventh of the season in the Premier League.
Football betting experts will see that the Uruguayan has now scored more than half of Liverpool’s goals in the top flight and is brimming with confidence right now, which has led to his huge praise from Rodgers.
The boss at Anfield said: “He plays the false nine role like Messi does for Barcelona where he moves freely and others have to get in behind him to penetrate,”
“Suarez’s goal was brilliant. He is a world-class striker.”
There is no doubt that the number seven is putting in some of his best performances for the club and if he stays fit, can be the key to Liverpool’s season and help them make a challenge to finish in the top six, or even the top four.
The claim that Suarez is like Messi is not Rodgers claiming they are of similar ability, but that they mean just as much to their respective sides and the role they play for the team is just an influential.
But the forward seems to be the only threat in front of goal for the Merseyside club and needs to have some strikers around him to come up with some more goals.
Rodgers went to hint there would be a number of new faces coming into Anfield in the January transfer window: “Once we get a number of other players that can fit the profile and the model of our game, when we dominate games like that and finish the chances it will be great for us.”
If the Reds can add some new personal and another top quality striker to support Suarez, then they could go on to have a successful season and the Uruguay international is sure to be one of leading scorers in the Premier League this campaign.
