Tottenham snatch last-gasp draw against Manchester United
Sunday was certainly a super one in the Premier League, as Tottenham snatched an injury-time equaliser to draw 1-1 with Manchester United at White Hart Lane. It was the visitors that struck first though.
A superb team moved from the Red Devils eventually saw Tom Cleverley produce a pinpoint cross for Robin Van Persie to power a header past Hugo Lloris in the Tottenham goal. Tottenham turned up the heat in the second half and their equaliser came deep into stoppage-time.
Aaron Lennon played the ball into Clint Dempsey and the American fired a low effort past David de Gea in the United goal.
In the other game on Sunday Chelsea defeated Arsenal 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues took the lead after just six minutes through a powerful effort from midfielder Juan Mata. Their lead was doubled in the 16th minute, Frank Lampard scoring from the penalty spot after Ramires was brought down by Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny.
Arsenal came into the game in the second half and got a goal back through Theo Walcott, after Santi Cazorla had played the England attacker in on goal. Arsenal put Chelsea under pressure, but the home side held on to secure three vital points.
