Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Jesus Navas is his first confirmed signing for Manchester City. Navas sealed a £23 million move from Sevilla to Etihad Stadium just after Malaga boss Pellegrini was confirmed as Roberto Mancini’s successor. For 27 year old Navas this must be tantamount to winning the jackpot at a top site like HandyCasino.de as he has spent his entire career at Sevilla up until now. This is City’s first major signing of the season, and the first under new boss Pellegrini who hopes to regain the Premier League title from Manchester United in the next season.

Navas has revealed that he chose Manchester City as his next destination over four months ago and is excited by the ambitious plans for the team. The right winger is thrilled that his transfer is now confirmed and he believes the move will work out well for both him and the other players.

He has more than 20 caps for Spain and was a key part of the Sevilla team that won the UEFA Cup in 2006 and 2007. He was also a member of Spain’s successful 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 squads and is in the 23-man party who has been picked for the eight-nation Confederations Cup to be played in June.

His career has been somewhat stunted by his crippling homesickness and to date his whole professional football term has played out within 20 miles of his hometown. He turned down a move to Chelsea in 2006 and has suffered anxiety attacks that have forced him to leave international matches and training events over the years. He is confident he has now beaten this ailment and is keen to advance his career with Manchester City. Navas has stated he may have to work on his English but he wishes to further his sporting career with an English club where he can continue to develop himself as a footballer, and Manchester City is the ideal team with which he can achieve this.

In addition to signing Navas, Pellegrini has also identified Isco and Thiago Alcantara as possible targets for Manchester City contracts. Pellegrini is desperately trying to build a stronger team to make up for losing to neighbouring rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.
